TOPICS
Critical Energy Code Issues with Don Sivigny – 4 credits
Local Codes Discussion with Jack Nyberg – 1.5 credits
Business Management Topic – 1.5 credits
Spend the morning with Don Sivigny, a construction code representative at the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. He will address your burning questions on the state’s energy and building regulations, covering mystifying topics like frost protected shallow foundations, monolithic slabs and properly sizing your HVAC equipment. Last but not least, he’ll get out a crystal ball for a peek at future for residential construction and codes.
After lunch, you’ll get a local, candid perspective on building-related topics from Moorhead Building Official Jack Nyberg covering handrails, deck ledger boards and alternative methods for construction, plus more.
To finish out the day, we’ll address a business management topic tailored for the construction industry.
CREDITS
7 credits are approved with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (includes 1 energy credit and 1 business management credit).
HBA offers this same day of classes Feb. 17.
