BAM Amicus Briefs
An Amicus Brief is a way to make an argument to the court in support of one of the parties in the case.
Amicus curiae means “friend of the court.” A party with strong interest in or views on the subject matter of action, may petition the court for permission to file a brief on behalf of a party to the action. Such amicus curiae briefs are commonly filed in appeals concerning matters of broad public interest.
BAM has submitted several amicus briefs over the years as a way to support and make a case on behalf of its members and the Minnesota residential construction industry.
